Found it!

Our house-hunting trip was successful! So successful, in fact, that we came home to Texas a day early...and surprised David the day before his birthday!

I finally uploaded my pictures from the past week: Wow, there are a lot. (Birthday! Birthday! Birthday!) Including way too many from the whirlwind trip to find a house. (We were very lucky to see quite a few great houses smack dab in the middle of good schools and our price range. Woo hoo!)

Since I'm such a nice blogger, I thought I would share some of the more thrilling pictures I took in Madison. (I assume you are sensing my sarcasm.)

These are just some of the highlights from my recent photo upload.

Who doesn't love a picture of outdated formica?

Notice this lovely three-season porch.

Not being a native Midwesterner myself, I had to ask the agent during which of the four seasons you don't use the porch. Yes, I'm stupid, but just having come from 100-degree weather in Texas, it was hard to fathom choosing to spend summer evenings sitting in an un-airconditioned sun-drenched room. (So, in case you didn't know, the answer is winter.)

I was obsessed--obsessed--with laundry rooms.

and closets.

Isn't this one beautiful?

Here are a few more pictures: The good, the bad, the ugly, but mostly the mundane.

This next picture represents the most beautiful thing of all, beating out even that lovely kitchen above.

Anybody know what it is?*

Now I will show you some beautiful views of the city and lakes.

Oh, wait. I didn't take any. It would have helped if we'd done some sightseeing. Oh well. I figure I will have three years to do that. As for my first time in Madison, I decided to stick to taking pictures of people's closets.

*A geo-thermal heating and cooling system. The stuff dreams are made of. (At least mine and Greg's.) Alas, this house was the runner-up, a distant runner-up, even though that lovely kitchen exists in the very same house. That should tell you how sure Greg and I are of the house we chose. (By the way, some of the pictures above are indeed from the house we chose, but I'm not telling which ones just yet---we close in 18 days!)
