Yard work

Mary and David love to help Grandpa Mike with the yard work on Saturdays.

The moment Mary sees Grandpa head outside, she gathers her gear, stands by the door, and demands, "Outside! Umpa!" David thinks there is no better way to spend a Saturday afternoon than working in the yard with his grandpa. So, this year at least, my dad gets a couple of little helpers in the yard.

These pictures were taken last Saturday. David and Mary braved the sub-freezing temperatures. (What's up with this winter? If I wanted to freeze, I would have stayed in Ohio!)

Mary with her gear--boots, binkie, and play-doh scissors...
The scissors are to help trim the bushes...
Meanwhile, David was busy raking...

It's nice that they want to spend their Saturdays outside. I, for one, am grateful for the yard work! (But I'm not sure my dad feels the same way.)
