It was still there this morning, weighing on my soul, but I couldn't express it.
Finally, at church, I was able to articulate the feeling in my heart. This is what it was:
David and I have been reading the illustrated Book of Mormon stories book together. This week we reached the part when Jesus Christ appears to His people in the Americas. He teaches them, blesses them, heals them, prays for them, prays with them. It was special to read about this with David, and I was reminded that--
- I really like the Book of Mormon.
- I know that Jesus Christ loves us.
- I know that Jesus Christ has a special love for children.
- I am profoundly grateful that I have been given the opportunity to mother two of God's very special children.
- I am grateful that I have God's help with motherhood because I know I often fail and cannot be everything my children need.
In case you were wondering, you can read about Christ's visit to this continent after His resurrection in 3 Nephi 11-27 of the Book of Mormon. I personally think 3 Nephi 17 is a beautiful, sacred passage because it illustrates the Savior's deep compassion, especially for children.
It is always good to be reminded of the Lord's love.
