Pictures from Mary's birthday

I have a few pictures to post from the day Mary turned 2. I was more concerned with getting video that day (for Greg), so when I looked at the pictures, I realized I had a rather random assortment--and not many of the birthday girl's sweet face. Oh well...

Mary and David testing out her new art easel first thing in the morning. Notice Mary's birthday crown from school. She insisted on wearing it as a bracelet the entire school day, so on her head--though upside down--is definitely progress!
Woo hoo! Play dough from Uncle Daniel. Just in time to replace all the other play dough that is permanently encrusted in the carpet. (Sorry, Mom.)

A family tradition! On David's 2nd birthday, we took him bowling. So I did the same thing for Mary. My brother Dave (aka Tio) was kind enough to come with me. Never before did he know how slowly a bowling ball can roll down a lane.

A bizarre stretch Hummer outside the bowling alley. Perfect for posing.
Getting ready for the party. For the record, I have to pause and list those who were in attendance: Tio, Tia, Grammy, Grampa, Grandma Evie, Grandpa Mike, David, myself, and Uncle Daniel made it in time for cake. I got almost no pictures of those who were here to celebrate. Lame!
David was a super helper with opening presents. And I don't mean that sarcastically. He would get the present started, and then pass it Mary for the real fun. Then he would help her be excited. He's such a great big brother.
Mary and her new bike.
That's the classic cat cake that we all know and love. It was easier than this fiasco. But my kids were only about 70% sure it was a cat. Again, no good picture of it. (Maybe that's for the best.)
It might have only looked 70% like a cat--but it was 100% yummy!

Happy birthday, Mary-berry. I love you. (And so does your "nanny.")
