Easter 2010

This post is primarily for Greg.

Here are some of the things we did on Easter.

Aunt Marie is here, and she brought some foam eggs and stickers, which Mary enjoyed and happily carried around in her Easter basket.

Like most Sundays, the kids Skyped with Daddy.

Notice David in the background getting dressed ALL BY HIMSELF!! (An Easter miracle!)

We had an Easter lesson, with lots of pictures of spring and Jesus Christ. I also pulled out my new favorite Easter visual aid (from this lesson), which I LOVE for telling the story of the Resurrection. So simple! If you have small children, print it on some card stock, color it, cut it out, and I promise you will love it too.

The kids also got surprises in (and under) their Easter baskets.

As I had hoped, the surprises kept them somewhat entertained while we watched Conference.

In the afternoon we dyed eggs. For Mary, it was art. For David, science.

Mary helped Grandma Evie frost the cake that would top off our yummy Easter dinner.

That evening we hunted eggs in the backyard, girls against boys. Tio and Tia were here to celebrate.

Ready, set, go...

Of course, one round is never enough. So the eggs were hid, found, and re-hid several times. (With the help of Aunt Marie.)

Bubbles are a good way to end just about any event.

It was a happy Easter!

Greg spends weekends scuba diving, white water rafting, and horseback riding. Somewhat surprisingly, I'm not jealous.

But this weekend Greg got to watch two days of General Conference without any interruptions. Now, THAT is something to be jealous of. I'm trying really hard not to be bitter. (Somehow, being bitter about General Conference seems to defeat the purpose of an event meant to spiritually renew one's soul.)

Greg's Sunday may have been peaceful and quiet. But I think ours was at least more fun.
